Upper Blepharoplasty
UPPER EYELID SURGERYRemoval of excess upper-eyelid skin to open hooded or drooping lids.
CONCERN ADDRESSED
Hooded or drooping upper eyelids from excess skin, which can make the eyes look tired and, in some patients, crowd the upper field of vision.
PROCEDURE
Excess skin, and fat where needed, is removed through an incision in the natural eyelid crease, so the scar sits within the fold.
ANAESTHESIA & DURATION
Local anaesthesia · typically 1–2 hours · same-day discharge
RECOVERY
Swelling and bruising peak at 2–3 days. Sutures out at 5–7 days; most visible healing is done by 10–14 days.
FINAL RESULT
Final result at 3–6 months, as residual swelling clears and the scar matures.
Typical recovery timeline
A general guide. Your own plan, aftercare, and review dates are set at consultation.
- DAY 1–3Swelling and bruising peak; cold compresses and head elevation.
- DAY 5–7Sutures removed; the crease starts to look natural.
- WEEK 2Bruising minimal; work, social activity and eye make-up resume.
- MONTH 3–6Scar fades within the crease; final result.
